TRAFFIC SCHEME IN FRENCHAY

The new 20 mph scheme has been implemented from the Village Hall area and 2 speed tables put in on the road.

Following a recent meeting between your Parish Councillors and the SGC senior highways team on site, we are delighted to tell you it has been agreed that the traffic calming build outs will be removed and replaced by traffic speed tables.

FRA, FPS and Winterbourne Parish Council have campaigned for some time now to prove that the design and implementation of these measures was poorly conceived and dangerous, starting with the FRA public consultation back in January 2019.

So we are glad that we can move forward and thank everyone who has supported our campaign. The removal will take place after SGC consultation and new plans which may take either side of a year, this probably will take longer now as a lot has changed since our site meeting with traffic officers three weeks ago.

We have all kept the pressure on and great deeds are wrought not by strength, but by perseverance!
